The boat has rack and pinion steering. i do not have the boat wi i have a bravo iii sterndrive on a searay 22 select 2007 year steering is stiff . this boat only has 56 hours .i was bought used two weeks ago. it did sit un used for 3 years . the eng runs great , oi. 
rack and pinion boat steering stiff Stiff steering on rack and pinion june 26th, 2008, 04:54 pm hey guyz, newbie here. i have stiff steering on my ebbtide. the dealer lubed my steer cable from transom end and said i should be ok. at the helm, when turning the wheel, i hear a squealing noise from the rack and pinion under the dash.my question is- can u lube this area as there is. Steering rod on boat will not go in and out because it is seized up with rust or is stuck because it has not been used in a long time. how to fix frozen steering shaft on boat. loading....
