Re: deck extension did the same thing on a ranger bass boat (it was a pain in the shins to fall while fighting a good fish) i used plywood that i cut to fit, treated with thompsons water seal, and then 4 coats of good marine varnish mixed with some sand on the top. worked great with plenty of non-slip traction.. I have a deck extension for a 98-99 285 pro elite that i bought from a fellow board member here. i paid him $125 for it and i don't like it. i am not willing to drill a hole in my boat. it gives you about 12 more inches of space. if any of you are interested i will sell it for what i paid for it. i will pay the shipping..
